Young Leader Manifesto

About Me

My name is David William Yearnshire and I go to Bedlingtonshire Community High School. My hobbies include: Karate, Swimming, Badmington, Reading and Scuba Diving. I am 15 Years Old

My key policies would be?
  1. More funding for educational purposes.
  2. More investment in the area so that more jobs can be available.
  3. More efficient services for council tax payers.
  4. More amenities available for young people.
  5. More money needs to be given to the police to ensure that our streets are safe and our locals are confident when leaving their doorsteps.
I would like to do the following things to make a difference?

I would like to become Young Leader because I feel strongly about where I live and I feel proud to be part of a close-knit community and I would like to get involved to be able to make a difference that would benefit our community both now and in the future.

After four consecutive years as a school councillor I believe that the voice of the public is extremely important and I would act as the Publics Mouthpiece to shout out their opinions to all those who listen and even those who don't in order to make a difference.

  1. More choice in the curriculum, based on personal ability, and the opportunity to practice these skills in a real working environment.
  2. Make the government more aware that there are less available jobs and unemployment is on the increase in the area and formulate a plan to rectify the situation.
  3. Get peoples views about the refuse collection with a view to have rubbish collected more regularly. Find out about waste disposal and to ensure that it
    is being safely disposed of.
  4. More money put into leisure, especially in Wansbeck and in particular Bedlington, which given the size of the town it has very few facilities for young people, eg sports, swimming, drama etc.
  5. More police are needed on duty in the streets to provide prevention and support work for young people.
